Age UK Enfield encourage older people to Get active this Spring – with a free exercise session for new members!
Age UK Enfield’s Fit For Life exercise project is encouraging older people to get out and get active this spring time, offering the first class for free.
Over the past two years it has been difficult for many older people to engage with physical activity, with coronavirus restrictions meaning classes were closed and lots of older people felt nervous getting out and about.
Now restrictions have been lifted and Spring is in full swing, it's time to get back out and get active, ensuring your body and mind stay fit and healthy.
Fit for Life co-ordinator Mark Huggard said:
‘We have classes to suit everyone – from gentle exercise, to line dancing and Zumba gold for the more active. We cover some of Enfields most beautiful country parks with leisurely strolls as well as challenging walks, which are particularly nice at this time of year with all the spring flowers in bloom.
‘We already have around 350 people a week attending our classes, and want to encourage many more older people to join us for their fitness journey. We have a timetable of over (how many) classes, and people can contact me to chat through the classes that we run to see which they might enjoy, and the first class is free meaning that people can come along and give it a go!’
