We were really sad to learn that the huge iconic Cedar Tree at Forty Hall suffered damage on Sunday 11th August.
Emotional comments came flooding in on our social media platforms from residents who had enjoyed this beautiful one of a kind tree over the years.
Some time ago a decision was made to fence off the area around the tree when it was deemed high risk of branch breakage. You can read the statement from 2014 here . Once Enfield Council have finished clearing the damage they should be able to assess the remaining tree and decide on future management options.
This tree was such an important part of our history, a tree that so many families have enjoyed as a backdrop to their events over the years.
